Cottage Co-op Nursery School and its acclaimed parent education program proudly present “Sensory Integration: What is it and How Does it Impact Behavior, Emotional Regulation and Development?” by Dr. Jamie Chaves.
A pediatric occupational therapist at The Center for Connection in Pasadena, CA, Dr. Chaves will break down sensory systems, how the brain processes sensory information, and how sensory integration issues can affect development, play skills, and school performance.
Parents will gain a better understanding of their child’s daily experience and learn ways to help them become more comfortable in their body and environment. The event will take place Thursday, April 26, 2017, at 7 p.m. at Walden School, located at 74 S. San Gabriel Blvd, Pasadena CA 91107.
Dr. Chaves’s appearance is a fund-raiser for Cottage Co-op Nursery, founded in 1972 as a non-profit, cooperative preschool in which teachers and parents embrace childdirected, creative play that nurtures social and emotional development in an intimate community setting.
Tickets are $20 for general admission and benefit Cottage Co-op Nursery School. Tickets can be purchased online at http://cottagecoop.org/news/sensory-integration, or at the door
