[9:45 p.m.] District 2 Candidate Felicia Williams told Pasadena Now she was very pleased with early results in Tuesday’s elections.
“The initial results are amazing. We ran a good, clean, honest campaign and it seems to have resonated with the voters. I’m very hopeful and truly grateful,” Williams said.
With mail-in ballot results announced first, Williams was the early leader Tuesday night in voting for Pasadena’s District 2 City Council seat – a race to fill the seat that’s being vacated by three-term incumbent Margaret McAustin.
Williams had 496 votes, or 49.8 percent, as of about 8:50 p.m., followed by Tricia Keane (262 votes, 26.31 percent), Bo Patatian (138 votes, 13.86 percent) and Kevin Litwin (100 votes, 10.04 percent), according to results announced on the website of the L.A. County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk.
At the end of the night, if no candidate gets 50 percent of the vote, there will be a runoff in November between the top two vote-getters. Polls closed at 8 p.m.
In April, McAustin announced she would not seek a fourth term.
District 2 includes central and eastern portions of the city, including East Colorado Boulevard between Wilson and Oak avenues, an area buzzing with residential development that has a strong Latino community and a burgeoning Armenian-American population.
