Strike teams including two Pasadena engine companies and other personnel headed north late Tuesday afternoon to fight the Jesusita fire, according to the Pasadena Fire Dept.
At about 5:18 p.m. Tuesday night, authorities report that the Los Angeles County Fire Department-Region 1 requested resources from Area “C†to assist with a brush fire burning in Santa Barbara County.
A Strike Team comprised of a Glendale Battalion Chief, Glendale Engine 22, Burbank Engines 13 and 14, and Pasadena Engines 33 and 36 were dispatched to the Earl Warren Showground just north of downtown Santa Barbara, the Dept. says.
Authorities say that shortly thereafter, Brush Strike Team 1205A comprised of Pasadena Battalion Chief Ray Gordon, Pasadena Captain Gerry Gardner, Alhambra Engine 71, Arcadia Engine 105, Monrovia Engine 101, South Pasadena Engine 81 and Monterey Park Engine 61 were also dispatched to Earl Warren Showground Staging location.
Authorities report this morning that the blaze, dubbed the Jesusita fire, calmed down overnight. About 1,000 residents had been evacuated as a precaution yesterday, according to media reports.
