[UPDATED] Pasadena firefighters contained a commercial structure fire at 1600 E. Walnut Ave. to the area where it started on Monday Sept. 7, holding losses to an estimated $200,000 while saving an estimated $11.5 million in property, City of Pasadena Chief Communications Officer Lisa Derderian said.

No one was injured, and no residents or businesses were displaced, Derderian said.

Arriving crews deployed hoselines and forced entry to keep the fire from spreading inside the building, Derdean said.

Additional crews handled search, ventilation, salvage, rapid intervention and utility control, Derderian said. She said the quick, coordinated work of the crews confined the fire to the area of origin with minimal damage to the structure and its contents.

The Pasadena Police Department and Pasadena Water and Power assisted.
