Commuting through Pasadena on I-210 Foothill Freeway could be a bit more of a hassle this week than usual.
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) said it is continuing work along Interstate 210 in Pasadena which will require intermittent closures of the eastbound and westbound ramps at Allen Ave. and Altadena Dr., and at the westbound San Gabriel Blvd. and westbound Sierra Madre Blvd. ramps.
The closures are scheduled to take place at various times this week through Friday, Aug. 25 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Caltrans said.
During the closures, ramp lanes and adjacent street lanes will be affected.
Caltrans said the upgrades include the installation of Accessible Pedestrian Signal systems, pedestrian countdown timers, and the re-striping of crosswalks to conform to current Americans with Disabilities Act standards. Additionally, curb ramps will be upgraded.
Work will include some concrete pours. No two consecutive ramps will be closed at the same time.
Caltrans said motorists should allow extra travel time and to be alert in work zones. The closures are subject to change.
