The gala will feature a full-course dinner, silent auction, live music by the Christian band Homecoming, and a keynote address by filmmaker Nicholas Ma, known for Won’t You Be My Neighbor?, Leap of Faith, and Mabel. The event will serve as both a celebration and a reflection on the center’s quarter-century legacy, while also looking ahead to its future.
Founded in 2001 and named for trustees William and Delores Brehm, the Brehm Center was established to integrate worship, theology, and the arts for the renewal of church and culture through empowering artists. Its academic offerings include a Certificate in Theology and the Arts, the Brehm Film and Brehm Preaching initiatives, and cohort-based learning experiences available both online and in person. The center also provides resources such as its Imagining Worship With Kids program, which supports intergenerational worship.
“The Brehm Center is excited to celebrate 25 years of serving students, artists, worship pastors, and Christian leaders,” said Shannon Sigler, the center’s executive director. “We are hosting an anniversary gala to look back and remember all those who have been involved with this ministry, and to look forward to the next 25 years. We truly believe that creativity and the arts have the capacity to revive the worship of the church.”
The gala will conclude Brehm Homecoming Week, which includes the three-day Brehm Sessions from Oct. 22 to 24. The sessions feature free live musical performances and interviews with musicians integrating their faith with their artistry.
