Fuller Theological Seminary resumed in-person operations at its Pasadena campus on Tuesday, January 21 following closure due to the Eaton Fire. The seminary is balancing “the grave losses many have sustained, the disorientation for those displaced, and the fears of those returning to campus or residential housing alongside the gratitude for those who are safe, sound, and able to return home.”

The Seminary’s statement said it is “grieved by the continued impact of the wildfires throughout Southern California, especially for those who have experienced major losses in the Fuller community.”

Fuller’s teams have “taken the measures we can to ensure cleanliness and safety on campus.” These include clearing debris, deep cleaning classrooms, offices, and residential areas, changing air filters, and ongoing monitoring of air quality and other conditions.

All campus operations were to resume, including meetings, events, and Chapel services. The Pasadena Campus in-person services, including the library, welcome center, and Fuller Psychological and Family Services Clinic, will also restart operations.

The institution stated it “is committed to ensuring everyone in our community receives the assistance they need during this transition.”

Fuller Theological Seminary, founded in 1947 by radio evangelist Charles E. Fuller and Harold Ockenga, serves a diverse student body of 2,089 students from approximately 90 countries and 110 denominations.
