Garage Fire in Pasadena Quickly Contained by Firefighters

A garage fire at in the 1100 block of Wesley Avenue was swiftly contained by Pasadena Fire Department crews on Monday afternoon, according to spokesperson Lisa Derderian.

At approximately 3:15 p.m., fire units responded to reports of heavy flames leaping from a detached garage with potential extension into the nearby residence. Arriving crews were able to extinguish the flames on the home’s eaves and prevent the fire from spreading further.

Additional teams conducted searches in the house and rear accessory dwelling unit (ADU), extinguished remaining flames, Derderian said.

The fire was fully knocked down by 3:32 p.m., with no injuries reported and no residents displaced.

Derderian estimated property damage at $100,000, while the value of saved property was around $1.5 million.

The Pasadena Police Department, Pasadena Water and Power, and the Gas Company assisted with the incident.

The cause has not yet been reported.
