
Camila Gonzalez and Deniya Fields each placed in the top 20 to pace the Pasadena City College women’s cross country team at the South Coast Conference Championships held Friday at Mt. San Antonio College. The Lancers placed seventh as a team.
Gonzalez scored 16th overall (20:32.7) and Fields 17th (20:36.3) as both came very close to the top 14 that made up the All-SCC Team.
Also scoring for PCC were Ellen Kim in 29th (21:44.7), Graciela Franquez in 34th (22:21), and Jennipher German in 42nd (24:15).
The other participants for the Lancers were Carolina De Los Santos in 50th (27:59.9) and Yara Villalvazo in 51st (28:37).
Both Gonzalez and Fields will take part at the Southern California Regionals on Friday, Nov. 7 at San Diego Mesa’s NTC Park course. As of press time, the Lancers were awaiting to find out if they made the regionals as an at-large team. Check this release for an update once the seedings are finalized.
