Although school Board elections are slated for November, one candidate can already declare victory.
Scott Harden, who ran unopposed, will be the next District 4 board member.
Earlier this week, Harden declared victory after the filing period closed.
“Our campaign has remained unopposed as of the close of filing today at 5 p.m., which effectively means I will serve District 4 as its next school Board trustee of PUSD.”
Harden has served multiple roles with Don Benito Elementary School’s PTA, including four elected terms as the PTA President. He has also served on the Bungalow Heaven Landmark District Board and has managed the Bungalow Heaven neighborhood watch program. Professionally, Scott is a small business consultant having worked with businesses and nonprofit organizations for over ten years both throughout the country and here in Southern California.
“Though my campaign is coming to a close, there is still so much work to be done,” Harden said. “Over the coming months I will prepare to serve District 4 with distinction, and that means connecting with you, listening to your thoughts and ideas about our schools so that I can truly represent your values when I sit on the school Board.”
Two other races will be decided in November plurality elections.
Incumbent Jennifer Hall Lee is hoping to hold on to her seat in the race against Juan Carlos Perez in the District 2 election and Tina Fredericks is squaring off against Lisa Kroese in District 6.
