Above-normal heat continues in Pasadena through Saturday before a sharp cooldown arrives Sunday, forecasters with the National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard office said early Friday.
Today’s conditions include patchy morning fog, clearing skies, and a high near 91. Winds remain calm, shifting to light southwest breezes around 5 mph in the afternoon. Tonight will be mostly cloudy with a low near 66.
Saturday will be mostly sunny with highs near 92. Overnight lows will hold in the upper 60s. By Sunday, temperatures fall to the mid-80s under clear skies, with light east winds turning southwest later in the day.
Forecasters said highs will run 4 to 6 degrees above normal through Saturday, then dip slightly below normal Sunday and Monday. No rain is forecast for Pasadena. Tropical systems Polo and Odalys off Mexico may generate southerly swells early next week, but precipitation chances remain uncertain.
Winds in Pasadena will stay light, generally calm to 5 mph, with occasional southwest breezes. Stronger gusts are confined to passes and canyons outside the city.
The weekend outlook shows Saturday’s heat giving way to cooler conditions Sunday, with highs near 84. Nights will be clear and comfortable, with lows in the lower 60s.
Locally, residents should expect a shift from summerlike warmth to more seasonable conditions by Sunday. Outdoor activities may feel more comfortable after the cooldown.
No advisories are in effect for Pasadena. Looking ahead, Tuesday and Wednesday bring a warming trend, with highs climbing back into the upper 80s under sunny skies. Dry weather is expected through Thursday.
