Hikers, bikers and horseback riders who enjoy the Gabrielino Trail in Hahamongna Watershed Park will have to find another route for now.
According to the City of Pasadena, about 500 to 800 feet of trail was lost north of the forestry homes and south of Teddy’s Outpost. The trail is impassable and closed until further notice.
The City is assessing and evaluating the damage and subsequent repairs. There is no estimated time frame for reopening the trail as the extent of the damage is still being investigated, the City said in a statement Monday.
The Gabrielino Trail is a United States National Recreation Trail that offers scenic views of mountains, canyons and streams. It is one of the most popular trails in the area and attracts thousands of visitors every year.
