A 69-year-old Pasadena man is in critical condition after a high-speed single-vehicle collision with a light pole on the 1400 block of North Fair Oaks Avenue and Cedar Street, according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Matt Campeau.
The accident occurred at 8:25 p.m. on Monday, January 22. Upon arrival, officers found the man unresponsive, near the vehicle. He was immediately transported to a local hospital where it was determined he had sustained a life-threatening head injury, Campeau said.
Authorities have not identified the man.
Witnesses reported seeing the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed before the collision.
Campeau said the Pasadena Police Department’s major accident investigation team has taken over the investigation. Further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
