The discovery of human remains Monday in the 10 block of La Venezia Court has brought the number of wildfire-related deaths in Altadena to 19, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
The department’s Special Operations Response Team responded to the location and confirmed the remains were human. The decedent, listed as Unidentified Doe #431, has been assigned case number 2025-11669.
Officials have not released an identity pending notification of next of kin.
The Altadena fatalities—part of the broader death toll from the Eaton Fire—include confirmed deaths on Monterosa Drive, Alta Pine Drive, Terrace Street, Tonia Avenue, Las Flores Drive, Sacramento Street, Krenz Avenue, Wapello Street, Pine Street, Mariposa Street, Punahou Street, Marengo Avenue, Palm Street and Boston Street.
Due to the condition of the remains, identification can be a complex process involving DNA analysis, dental records, medical imaging and comparisons with missing persons reports.
