The Institute of Culinary Education (ICE), among the nation’s most highly-ranked culinary schools, will host an open house event at its Pasadena campus on Friday, March 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. The event will showcase the school’s programs for individuals whose passion for cooking, baking or business could lead to exciting culinary careers.

Prospective students will have the opportunity to speak with staff and instructors about various diploma programs, specifically Culinary Arts and Restaurant & Culinary Management. The open house will also feature information about continuing education courses such as Intensive Sommelier Training and Artisan Bread Baking.

The event, according to ICE,  will provide attendees with information about the admissions process and financial aid options. Those planning to submit applications should bring a copy of their high school diploma or official college transcript, along with an $85 application fee payable by credit or debit card.

The online application for ICE Los Angeles can be found at ice.edu/apply, and ICE’s Career Training catalog can be downloaded for free online.

Located at 521 East Green Street in Pasadena’s historic Playhouse District, the ICE Los Angeles campus spans 38,000 square feet of educational and administrative space. The facility features seven fully equipped teaching kitchens filled with modern kitchen equipment, each ranging between 1,500 and 1,800 square feet, with 80 linear feet of Ansul protected hood-space for stoves and ovens.

The campus also includes a dedicated academic classroom, a 2,000-square-foot Learning Resource Center, and additional tutoring rooms. These spaces provide students with areas to gather, study, or socialize between classes.

ICE describes its Los Angeles location as one of the world’s culinary and hospitality capitals, and “one of the most exciting food cities in America.” The campus is situated 20 minutes north of downtown Los Angeles, within walking distance of several bus lines and metro rail stations.

For the open house, complimentary parking will be available for attendees at 40 South Oakland Ave. Visitors should pull a parking ticket upon arrival to the parking garage and bring it in for validation. After parking, attendees should come to 521 East Green Street and check in with the receptionist.
