In an effort to foster interfaith dialogue and understanding, Dr. Ahmed Soboh, Chairman of the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California, will lead a presentation titled “Islam – Behind the Headlines” on Sunday, Feb. 9, at All Saints Church Pasadena.
The educational event, organized by All Saints Church’s Interfaith Study Group, will take place at Sweetland Hall from 5 to 7:30 p.m., combining scholarly discussion with community engagement.
Soboh, a scholar on Islam, interfaith leader, and community advocate, plans to explore and debunk common misconceptions while illuminating the core teachings of Islam. He serves as the Religious Director at the Islamic Center of Yorba Linda and is the co-founder and former Religious Director of the Chino Valley Islamic Center. Soboh is highly regarded as a speaker within the Muslim community and among interfaith groups in Southern California.
The gathering will incorporate both educational elements and community building, with attendees asked to bring a vegetarian dish to share in the potluck meal.
Organizers encourage participants to bring an open heart and a mind willing to listen and learn about Islamic teachings and principles.
All Saints Church is at 132 N. Euclid Ave. in Pasadena.
