Today the Rose Bowl Stadium announced that cross-town rivals, the LA Galaxy and LAFC, will return with a world-class soccer match on July 4, 2024.
The match will feature the longest-running fireworks display on the West Coast which was formerly known as AmericaFest and until last year was a separate event.
The match day events will include tributes to Veterans and pre-match tailgating.
The Rose Bowl Stadium served as the home venue for the LA Galaxy from 1996-2002 and will once again provide the biggest stage for Los Angeles’ marquee soccer rivalry. The Fourth of July match will mark the 28th MLS regular-season match held on July 4th for the LA Galaxy.
The 20th all-time edition of El Tráfico held at the Rose Bowl Stadium on July 4, 2023 set the Major League Soccer stand-alone attendance record of 82,110 fans, with the Galaxy earning a 2-1 victory over LAFC.
Before and during the match there will be activations honoring local Veterans, and following the conclusion of the match, the club and the Rose Bowl Stadium will continue its 98-year tradition of providing the largest and longest-running fireworks display on the West Coast for fans in attendance and the local community, alike.
The Rialto-California based company, Pyro Spectaculars by Souza has been providing firework entertainment at the Rose Bowl Stadium for more than 35 years and is known worldwide for extraordinary firework displays, producing shows for the NFL Super Bowls, the Olympic Games, and other major events throughout the world.
