Pasadena’s Kidspace Children’s Museum is reopening its revamped Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC) on Tuesday, Sept. 10, offering an expanded space for the youngest visitors.
The redesigned area, dubbed “Babyspace,” promises a range of interactive experiences tailored to infants, crawlers, and early walkers. The renovated center will feature a whimsical rain cloud fixture and an array of toys designed to stimulate sensory exploration.
Young children can navigate through tunnels, climb a stream-themed structure, and rest on leaf-shaped pads in the nature-inspired environment.
Kidspace officials emphasize that the new space is specifically engineered to support the physical, cognitive, and social-emotional growth of its tiny patrons.
The ECLC will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with access included in general admission and free for museum members.
Space in the ECLC is limited and reserved exclusively for infants, crawlers, and early walkers.
The museum invites all children to play, discover, create, thrive, and explore the world with curiosity and kindness in this new space.
On Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the museum will host a special “Toddler Tuesday” event. This session will adapt various play areas for toddlers, including a “toddler take-over” in the Ramps & Rollers exhibit and a Baby Olympics obstacle challenge.
The nonprofit museum encourages families to consider annual memberships, which provide unlimited access to the ECLC and other exhibits throughout the year.
Kidspace positions itself as a venue designed to delight and engage children emotionally, intellectually, and physically “through joyful, kid-driven experiences.”
As part of its community engagement efforts, Kidspace is soliciting votes for “Best Museum” in the annual Pasadena Weekly survey, where it’s listed as No. 5 on the first page.
The museum, located at 480 N. Arroyo Blvd. in Pasadena, relies on memberships and donations to support its educational mission and enrich the lives of all children in the community.
