The Jackalope Indie Artisan Fair returns to Pasadena’s Central Park this weekend, April 26-27, 2025, showcasing over 200 local, hand-selected artisans. The free-to-attend event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, offering shoppers access to a curated selection of trendsetting indie goods including original fashion, jewelry, paper goods, home decor, art, photography, and food.

“The mission of Jackalope Arts is to create a shopping experience with the highest quality, locally handcrafted goods. We strive to support local artisans who devote their lives to their creations,” according to the Jackalope Arts website.

Founded in 2015 by Melissa Kohout and Sara Diederich, Jackalope Arts emerged from the founders’ shared vision to create “a community meets artisan event.” The pair met while working with an international arts organization, coordinating art events across major cities including Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle.

Since its inception, Jackalope has expanded to host semi-annual events in Pasadena and Denver, with Burbank added in 2019 and Minneapolis in 2021. The organization describes itself as “Where Local Culture Meets Craft. A unique, curated shopping experience featuring the top trendsetting makers & designers of local goods.”

The weekend fair includes live music performances throughout both days. Paul Falcon kicks off each day from 10 a.m.-11 a.m., followed by Ricky England from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., the Ricky and Song interactive musical experience from 1 p.m.-1:30 p.m., and Andy Kimbel from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. An open mic for solo musicians, hosted by Andy Kimbel, will conclude each day from 4 p.m.-5 p.m.

Families can enjoy numerous activities including Make Your Own Slime with Sparklez Slimez, introductory art classes with Mission: Renaissance, face painting by Jackie Morrison, and custom apparel decoration with Print Renegades (Sunday only). Additional activities throughout the weekend include watercolor painting, an ASMR slime-making experience, and chess lessons for children through storytelling.

The event is open to all ages, handicap accessible, and welcomes leashed pets. Visitors can find parking at Fishbecks (150 S Raymond Ave) for $12 per day or $20 for the weekend, or take the Metro Gold Line to Del Mar Station, which is a two-minute walk from Central Park.

Jackalope Arts has partnered with Plaza, a social marketplace app for the arts and craft community, to provide an interactive map helping visitors find nearby sellers and plan their route through the fair.

Beyond this weekend’s event, Jackalope Arts will return to Pasadena on September 20-21, 2025, for the Pasadena ARTWalk on Green Street and again on November 15-16, 2025, at Central Park. Additional 2025 events include Burbank (May 31-June 1 and December 13-14), Minneapolis (August 9-10), and Arvada, Colorado (October 4-5).
