The City of Pasadena, like many other largely populated cities, has a substantial number of households that are at risk of homelessness.

The answer is 1,216 adults and children. Nearly 100 families, live on the streets or in homeless facilities every day in Pasadena. Between 2009 and 2011 homelessness increased by 17%.

The City of Pasadena, like many other largely populated cities, has a substantial number of households that are at risk of homelessness. According to the 2007 Flintridge community assessment, 19% of residents in Northwest Pasadena and Altadena live at or below poverty level, and 45% live at or below 200% of poverty level. LACF encounters many individuals with personal experiences such as domestic violence, physical disabilities, mental illness, and substance abuse – factors which have often caused these individuals, or their entire household, to become homeless. Union Station Foundation reports that approximately 3,600 people become homeless each year in the City of Pasadena.

The mission of the Homeless Outreach Program is to break the cycle of poverty and hopelessness while encouraging and equipping men and women in developing intimate relationships with God, the church and their families. This holiday season, we invite you to help us share God’s love and compassion with our struggling neighbors as we nourish, comfort and renew courage to those facing the despair of homelessness!
