What could be better than a children’s shop owned by a warm, friendly grandmother who loves kids and fashion?

Little Sunshine in quaint Old Town Monrovia is popular with Moms from Glendale to Glendora because of the cute clothing and accessories on offer, but it’s owner Voula Bratakos, grandmother to four, who adds the warmth that makes those shoppers want to come.

“I love the kids, every child that walks in. And of course I love fashion!” laughs Voula.

Voula thinks her far-flung clientele treks to her shop because “they find clothes are unique, and my prices are very good.”

The small shopped is brimming with colorful and different boys and girls clothing sized 0 to 14, and accessories. Voula buys the ranges herself twice a year, keeping a sharp eye out for well-made garments that are “unique.”

The shop stocks styles from well known makers including Knuckleheads, Le Top, Minishashu, Wes and Willy, Kicky Pants, Rabbit Moon, Haute Baby. Shoes are from Squeakers and Pediped, and Voula also carries accessories like purses, hats, and boys’ sets.

“I love children,” Voula says. “That’s why I decided to open this store.  I love to be in this business – I enjoy it!”
