Pasadena native and resident, Richard Ludt of Interior Removal Specialist (IRS Demo), an interior demolition and industrial recycling firm, was recently appointed to the Solid Waste Facilities Hearing Board by Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn.
The Board in LA County is composed of six members responsible for enforcing state regulations related to solid waste facilities and permitting solid waste facilities in Los Angeles County.
The board plays a significant role in managing solid waste in Los Angeles County and ensuring that it is disposed of in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
According to a statement released on Monday, Ludt’s appointment “will be important for Pasadena as the city addresses the growing community and waste management in the area.”
“Trash isn’t sexy, but the matters in which we dispose of different waste materials can have significant impacts on the environment over time,” Ludt said in a statement on Monday.
According to that statement, the Pasadena native will look to make sure that the community’s voice is heard in any Board discussion regarding Pasadena.
Ludt has extensive experience complying with California’s heavily-regulated solid waste ordinances and coordinating extensive efforts for the recycling of all types of construction debris obtained from tenant improvement demolition projects.
Ludt is a longtime environmentalist and serves as the Director of Environmental Affairs at Interior Removal Specialist, Inc., also known as IRS Demo. IRS Demo is reportedly the only interior demolition company that also runs its own 14-acre recycling and warehousing facility, Construction, Demolition & Recycling, Inc., or CDR), in South Gate.
