
The City of Pasadena has announced the opening of the candidate filing period for its Primary Municipal Election slated for March 5, 2024. Starting Monday, Nov. 13 through Friday, Dec. 8, 2023, nomination papers for candidates seeking local City offices will be available at the Office of the City Clerk, 100 North Garfield Avenue, Room S228.
Candidates may receive and circulate nomination petitions to gather signatures of registered voters in order to place their names on the March 5th ballot for the Office of Mayor (elected citywide) for a full four-year term or for Members of the City Council for Districts 1, 2, 4, and 6, each for a full four-year term.
In addition, the office for Member of the City Council District 3 will be held as a Special Election to fill the remaining two years of the four-year term for that seat on the City Council.
The official nomination period opens on Monday, November 13, 2023 and closes Friday, Dec. 8, 2023, at 5:30 p.m., for City elections. The City Clerk’s Office will be issuing nomination papers during that period to qualified candidates.
Two identical Candidate Workshops will be conducted by the City Clerk at Pasadena City Hall, 100 North Garfield Avenue on Monday, Nov. 13 in the morning at 8 a.m., and Wednesday, Nov. 15 in the afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
The Monday morning workshop will be held in the Council Chamber, Room S249 at 8 a.m., with an evening workshop to be held on Wednesday in the City Hall Basement Grand Conference Room, Room S038 starting at 4:30 p.m.

If you need to register to vote, voter registration information is available at City Hall Offices, public libraries, post offices, as well as online RegisterToVote.ca.gov. The deadline to register to vote for the March 2024 Primary Municipal Election is Tuesday, February 20, 2024.
