A 22-year-old Pasadena man was arrested Saturday night following a brief high-speed police pursuit that began with a traffic violation and ended with DUI charges, according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Monica Cuellar.
Santos Hernandez was taken into custody at 11:44 p.m. on May 24 after a three-minute pursuit that started near Colorado Boulevard and San Gabriel Boulevard, Cuellar said.
The incident began when Pasadena police officers attempted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation in the area, Cuellar said. However, the driver allegedly failed to yield to officers, prompting the pursuit.
“The vehicle failed to yield, and then there was a three-minute pursuit at high speeds,” Cuellar said. The pursuit ended when “the driver pulled over, and then he was arrested.”
Cuellar confirmed that no injuries occurred during the incident and that the suspect did not resist arrest when he finally stopped his vehicle. The lieutenant did not provide details about the specific speeds reached during the pursuit or where exactly it concluded.
