If you or someone you know needs vision care, here’s a great free opportunity.

On Saturday, March 4, the Pasadena Host Lions Club will host an event that promises to change lives. Vision Fest will provide free vision screening, free refurbished prescription eyeglasses, and free resources for vision surgery to anyone who attends.

The event will be held at the Salvation Army Tabernacle located at 960 E. Walnut Street, in Pasadena. Open to the public it will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is open to people of all ages who need vision care.

The eyewear given out during the event changes lives, said Pasadena Host Lions Club member and Chair for the Vision Fest event, Donna Pomerantz.

“At our last Vision Fest, we had a family from a neighboring city come in,  a single parent and her children and a nephew,” remembers Pomerantz. “And when they came out they all had free or complimentary, refurbished eyeglasses and I mean, the kids were dancing and mom had a smile on her face and their nephew was just so happy!”

“That’s just one example of the difference when people come in and then when they leave us. You know, the impact is just tremendous,” Pomerantz said.

The vision screening is not meant to replace a comprehensive eye examination and refraction that can be obtained through a doctor’s office. Instead, the screening is designed to assess for ocular health concerns and provide a usable pair of refurbished eyeglasses until further professional services and ophthalmic materials are obtained.

One of the most significant challenges facing people who need vision care is the cost of prescription eyeglasses. For many people, the cost of eyeglasses can be prohibitive, making it difficult for them to access the care they need. Vision Fest aims to change that.

The event will provide free refurbished prescription eyeglasses to anyone who needs them, regardless of their ability to pay.

The event organizers cannot guarantee that all patients in line will be seen, so they advise people to come early. The event may end sooner than scheduled, as determined by attendance. However, they are committed to serving as many people as possible and will do their best to ensure that everyone who attends receives the care they need.

Vision Fest is an excellent opportunity for people who need vision care to access it in a safe, supportive environment. The event is open to people of all ages and is particularly helpful for those who may not have access to traditional healthcare services.

The Pasadena Host Lions Club is a non-profit organization that has been serving the community for over 100 years. They have been working tirelessly to ensure that people in need of vision care can access it. Vision Fest is just one of their many initiatives aimed at improving the lives of those in the community.
