A 55-year-old Pasadena man was injured when another man repportedly threw a chair at him during a disturbance at a restaurant in the 1400 block of East Colorado Boulevard on Wednesday morning, according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Derek Locklin.
James Delballe, 55, of Los Angeles, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after the 8:30 a.m. incident, Locklin said. The victim, sustained injuries to his left forearm and received medical treatment at the scene.
According to Locklin, the victim told police he entered the restaurant and observed Delballe displaying agitated behavior.
Without provocation, the suspect allegedly shouted profanities and threatened physical violence before picking up a chair and throwing it at the victim, Locklin reported.
The victim raised his arms in defense and blocked the chair, sustaining the injury to his forearm, according to the lieutenant.
After the attack, the victim pursued the suspect until police arrived and detained him, Locklin said.
Locklin said the police report did not indicate whether the suspect was intoxicated or if there had been any prior complaints about him at the restaurant. No other patrons were injured in the incident, according to the lieutenant.
Delballe booked on charges related to the assault, Locklin confirmed.
