A 42-year-old Pasadena man was arrested early Saturday morning after allegedly vandalizing a police vehicle and leading officers on a brief foot chase near Huntington Hospital, according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Keith Gomez.
Justin Donaghho was taken into custody and booked on of felony vandalism following the incident, which began around 1:57 a.m. in the 100 block of West California Boulevard, Gomez said.
Officers initially responded to Huntington Hospital regarding a disturbance involving Donaghho, Gomez said. Upon arrival, they determined no crime had occurred but stood by as hospital security asked Donaghho to leave the property.
As Donaghho walked away from the building, he allegedly kicked a nearby patrol car, causing damage estimated at over $1,000 to the vehicle’s door, according to Gomez. The suspect then fled on foot when officers attempted to contact him about the vandalism.
Following a short pursuit, Donaghho was apprehended without further incident near the intersection of Raymond Avenue and Fillmore Street, approximately one block from the hospital, Gomez said.
No weapons were involved in the incident, and no injuries were reported during the foot chase or arrest, Gomez confirmed.
Felony vandalism charges are typically filed when damage exceeds $1,000, as was the case in this incident, Gomez explained.
