A man suffered serious injuries in Pasadena Monday after he was smashed in the head with a bottle by another man during an argument over a beer, police said.
The attack took place at about 11:15 p.m. in the 400 block of East Orange Grove Boulevard, said Pasadena police Lt. Sean Dawkins.
Officers responded to a report that two men had become involved in an argument over a beer — believed to be a Corona — that escalated into an assault, according to the lieutenant.
A 48-year-old Pasadena man had been struck in the head with a bottle, causing lacerations described as serious but not life-threatening. Paramedics took him to a hospital for treatment.
Police described the attacker as a Latino man between 25 and 30 years old, with tattoos on his neck and arms. He wore diamond earrings, a yellow sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and a black hat.
He was last seen running south along McGrew Alley, Dawkins said.
