A shallow marine layer will return to Pasadena this week, producing patchy morning fog and low clouds while daytime highs stay near seasonal norms, National Weather Service forecasters said Wednesday.
Temperatures through Friday are expected to remain steady, reaching around 88 degrees each afternoon with overnight lows near 61 degrees. Winds will be light and variable, becoming calm during the evenings.
Forecasters said the pattern will continue into the weekend, with fog persisting before 11 a.m. each day and mostly sunny skies during the afternoons. Highs Saturday and Sunday will reach about 89 degrees, with nighttime temperatures holding in the lower 60s.
The forecast remains dry, with no rain expected through early next week. Fog and low clouds will be limited primarily to early mornings, clearing by midday.
Wind conditions are expected to stay mild, with afternoon breezes around 5 mph. No wind advisories have been issued for Pasadena.
Although a tsunami advisory has been posted for coastal areas of Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties, it does not affect Pasadena directly. The advisory warns of potentially dangerous currents near harbors and marinas but no widespread flooding. Residents planning coastal travel should heed guidance from local emergency officials.
Forecasters said the current weather pattern will remain static through next Tuesday. Slight warming may occur beginning Aug. 6, though temperatures will stay close to late-summer averages.
