Pasadena mayoral candidate Major Williams has scheduled a public town hall meeting Saturday to answer questions about his positions on issues of importance to Pasadena residents.
Williams, a newcomer to local politics, faces incumbent Mayor Terry Tornek, Councilmember Victor Gordo, former City Commissioner Jason Hardin and another first-time candidate, Michael Geragos, in the March 3, 2020 election.
Williams’ announcement said he hopes “residents show up from all 7 districts” at his Town Hall.
“The purpose of this event is to give the community an opportunity to voice their opinions, ask a question about an issue [that is] important to them and their families,” an event notice on Facebook said.
Williams is a local businessman.
Last year, Williams said his role as Mayor would be more as “an ally more than a city official. I’m not a career politician. I’ve been pretty successful in entrepreneurship and business.”
The Town Hall will run from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Pasadena Central Library, 285 E. Walnut Street. Light refreshments will be available, organizers said. For further information please text to (626) 623-3753.
