Forecasters said the Rose Parade will be rain-free, but events later in the day may not be so lucky.
“It will be dry and cool through Monday morning,” the National Weather Service reported in an early morning release, but cautioned Rose Bowl Game fans and float-viewing spectators at Floatfest after the Parade that “a weak weather system will increase rain chances from late Monday afternoon.”
There is a 30 percent chance of rain after 4 p.m. – the Rose Bowl Game starts at 2 p.m.
High clouds are overspreading the area and by afternoon it will be mostly cloudy, NWS forecasters said.
The rain sweeping in Monday afternoon will continue to Tuesday, then a strong Pacific storm system is expected Wednesday into Thursday with heavy rain and strong winds possible.
