Sierra Madre Catholic school Alverno High School will be holding an activity day this coming Saturday, September 29, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. as part of its ongoing mission of empowering the female youth.

Female attendees from the sixth, seventh, and eighth grade will be given the option to take part in various classes discussing Art, Campus Ministry, Dance & Drama, English & History, Math & Science, and Government, giving them the knowledge and skills to prepare them both academically and in their day to day lives. The event is also a great way to introduce the campus to other young girls.

“Activity Day is a wonderful opportunity for students to get a taste of the extensive academic program and activities offered by Alverno,” said Alverno High School Admissions and Public Relations Director Sara A. McCarthy

A prayer service and a barbecue on the Alverno lawns will also follow the different classes, closing the day’s events.

Established in1960, Alverno High School is a Catholic, private, college preparatory school for young women dedicated to preparing them to function in a society as informed, knowledgeable persons, who have the requisite skills to make and implement mature decisions about complex problems.

The Alverno High School Activity Day takes place this coming Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Alverno High School grounds on 200 N. Michillinda Ave.
