At 10:00 a.m. Friday uniformed Pasadena Police Officers were on routine patrol when they made an enforcement stop on a 23 year old black man. The suspect  took off running and a foot chase ensued to a nearby housing complex near Hammond St. and Morton Ave. The suspect allegedly presented a handgun in a threatening manner. One of the officers fired at the suspect. The suspect was hit and fell to the ground. A firearm was recovered in close proximity to the suspect.
Paramedics were requested and responded to the scene and transported the suspect to a nearby hospital.
The investigation is on-going and the Officer Involved Shooting Investigation Team is on-scene.
Police activity are expected for a lengthy period. Please avoid the area.
