The Panda Restaurant Group will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a private tasting with Panda Inn chefs at the restaurant’s original site in Pasadena on Monday, October 7.
Andrew Cherng and his father, Master Chef Ming-Tsai Cherng brought authentic Mandarin and Szechuan cuisine to Southern California when they opened the first Panda Inn branch in Pasadena in 1973. Their original vision was to serve upscale Chinese cuisine in an inviting and comfortable atmosphere. The restaurant currently has six locations in Southern California: Glendale, La Palma, Los Angeles, Ontario, Pasadena and San Diego.
The Panda Express chain of fast food restaurants was established in the 1980’s and represented a new concept that pioneered quick-service, high-quality Chinese food.
Panda Express now has 1,580 restaurants throughout the United States, Puerto Rico and Mexico. It is considered as one of America’s fastest growing Chinese restaurant concept. Last month, Panda Express marked its 1,500th location in Cordova, Tennessee.
Panda Inn serves guest favorites including Honey Walnut Shrimp and Panda Beef. It is home to “Three Ingredient Taste,” an entree is a mix of shrimp, tender beef, chicken breast, fresh broccoli, mushrooms and bamboo shoots in a mushroom soy sauce.
The very first Panda Inn is located at 3488 E. Foothill Blvd. For more information, call (800) 877-8988 or visit www.pandainn.com.
