Partly Sunny And Dry Skies in Latest Rose Parade Weather Forecast

The new year will start off cold and cloudy in the Southland Monday, with the sun expected to appear in the afternoon while temperatures remain on the milder side.

The forecast calls for a slight chance of showers in the early morning, but sunny skies in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. It’s not clear if the sun will peak out in time to be enjoyed by those lined up to view the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena.

Monday’s highs are expected to be in the 60s in most of Los Angeles County, staying in the 50s in the mountains and high desert.

Temperatures will remain below normal this week, with the coldest numbers expected on Wednesday and Thursday.

Wednesday is also shaping up to be a wet one across the Southland, with rain in the forecast for most areas that day. The forecast for the rest of the week is currently devoid of rain.

“This will likely be the coldest storm of the season, especially as the core moves through Wednesday into Thursday,” the NWS said.

New Year’s Day: Sunny, with a high near 65. East northeast wind around 5 mph becoming south southwest in the afternoon.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 43. West northwest wind around 5 mph becoming east after midnight.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night: Showers after 4 a.m. Low around 45. East wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Wednesday: Showers, mainly before 10am. High near 56. East southeast wind around 10 mph becoming south southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Wednesday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers, mainly before 10pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 42.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 58.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 39.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 62.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 41.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 59.

Saturday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40.
