Pasadena-headquartered Tetra Tech has been awarded a contract to expand a major wastewater treatment facility near Orlando, Florida, the company announced Tuesday.
Orange County Utilities selected Tetra Tech, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTEK) to provide engineering design and technical services for the expansion of the Eastern Water Reclamation Facility, which serves a 451-square-mile area outside Orlando.
The engineering firm will develop advanced wastewater treatment solutions to help accommodate increasing wastewater flows while improving operations, energy efficiency and resilience at the facility.
“For almost 20 years, Tetra Tech has provided Orange County Utilities with innovative and efficient water and wastewater infrastructure solutions,” said Dan Batrack, Tetra Tech Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, in a statement.
Company engineers will conduct modeling to optimize processes and prepare designs for increasing the treatment capacity at the facility.
Tetra Tech, which employs 30,000 people worldwide, specializes in water, environment and sustainable infrastructure projects. The company describes itself as a leading provider of high-end consulting and engineering services.
The value of the contract was not disclosed.
