A Southern California investment banker has written a book to help business owners navigate the complex process of selling their companies.

Brad Feldman, managing director at Pasadena Private Strategic Advisors, published “Capture: How Business Owners Unlock Value, Exit with Purpose, & Step into What’s Next” in September.

The book introduces a five-stage framework called the Capture Curve. The stages are Clarify, Construct, Calibrate, Capture and Cultivate.

Feldman is a Certified Exit Planning Advisor who founded the succession planning practice at his firm. He also teaches entrepreneurship and project management at Cal State LA.

“Too often, owners approach an exit reactively — triggered by conflict, lawsuits, or sudden crises,” Feldman said. “I wrote this book not because I have all the answers. But I’ve walked alongside so many founders at this crossroads.”

The book addresses both financial strategy and personal challenges. It covers valuation drivers, buyer perspectives, deal structures and identity issues that leaders face.

Pasadena Private Strategic Advisors is affiliated with Pasadena Private Financial Group.

Iain Whyte chairs both organizations. He said Feldman’s work helps clients unlock business value while preparing families for transitions.

“His approach isn’t just about financial outcomes,” Whyte said. “It’s about readiness, legacy, and long-term well-being.”

How Business Owners Unlock Value, Exit with Purpose, & Step into What’s Next is available now in hardcover on Amazon.
