The City and the Pasadena Partnership are urging community members to sign up as volunteers for the 2026 Homeless Count, a two-part canvassing effort scheduled for the evening of Jan. 21 and the morning of Jan. 22.
Officials said volunteers are essential to the annual count, which helps determine how many people are experiencing homelessness in Pasadena on a single winter night and shapes policy and funding decisions for the year ahead.
Participants will work in teams on Wednesday, Jan. 21, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., and again on Thursday, Jan. 22, from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m., to conduct a visual count and administer a survey to unhoused residents. The same group of volunteers will return for both shifts.
Volunteers must be 18 or older and attend an online orientation on Wednesday, Jan. 14. Registration is open now at PasadenaPartnership.org and will close on Tuesday, Jan. 6.
As in past years, volunteers will also distribute cold weather kits to people encountered during the count.
City officials said the effort not only provides critical data for local planning but also offers residents a meaningful opportunity to support their neighbors experiencing homelessness.
