The Pasadena City Council will consider approving $1,324,440 for homelessness prevention and services at its June 2 meeting, with potential additional funding of $1.5 million in both 2027 and 2028.
The agenda also includes a Police Department “2024 Year-End Review” presentation and continuation of the public hearing on the Fiscal Year 2026 operating budget, with final adoption scheduled for June 9.
In a controversial item, the Council will review the possible designation of Roosevelt School as a landmark. City staff recommends disapproval, while the Historic Preservation Commission voted 5-4 for approval as “an example of a Mid-Century Modern style educational facility.”
Other items include:
- Sewer System Management Plan update
- Potential demolition of six Hahamongna Watershed Park Annex buildings
- $1,493,456 contract for Allen Avenue pedestrian enhancements
- $3,060,000 five-year contract for Cummins engine parts and service
- Resolution establishing new job classifications and updating salaries
- First reading of an ordinance adopting Ellis Act tenant protections
The Council will also receive claims against the city and consider personnel changes to the Design Commission.
The meeting begins with a closed session at 5:00 p.m., followed by public meeting at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber at Pasadena City Hall, 100 North Garfield Avenue.
Public comment is limited to 20 minutes at the beginning of the meeting, continuing at the conclusion if necessary. Comments are limited to 3 minutes per speaker, with separate opportunities for consent items and multiple agenda items.
