In spite of an early morning fire and numerous media reports to the contrary, the Pasadena Courthouse is open for business Monday on a modified basis, officials said.
The small fire started in an air conditioning unit and was quickly extinguished, however nearby hazardous materials brought a multi-agency Hazmat response that temporarily closed near by streets.
Although the main courthouse building is being ventilated and crews are repairing the air conditioning system, according to officials, the Courthouse is working on a modified schedule.
Hundreds of people lined up outside the courthouse. City officials said that if you have an appointment athe Courthouse you should report in to the building’s west wing.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
