Pasadena Crime Rate Increase Over Last Year Holds Steady in September

The overall crime rate in Pasadena during September rose 7% over the same month last year, the Pasadena Police Department said in a monthly crime statistical report released today.

Police figures show the increase in the number of crimes reported rising to 322 in September, 2013 from the 301 reported during September, 2012.

Overall, the year-to-date crime statistics for Pasadena stayed steady at a 13 percent increase over January through September crime figures from last year.

The year-to-date report also showed that homicide cases have risen this year to three, which is above last year at this time, but less than 2011’s five. So far, the murder rate increase is 50 percent in 2013 over the same period of 2012.

Rape, robbery and domestic violence assaults in through September this year have decreased over the same period last year with 5 percent, 15 percent, and 10 percent respectively, while the assault with deadly weapon and other assaults, as well as all forms and burglaries of thefts have recorded an increase over the same period last year.
