Pasadena Eastside Hit by Rash of Suspicious Fires; Investigations Underway

Pasadena emergency crews responded to several suspicious fires within the span of a few hours Thursday afternoon on the east end of the city, according to a statement from Pasadena Fire and Police officials.

Authorities said the first call came in around noon for a dumpster fire behind Whole Foods Market at 3751 E. Foothill Blvd. Additional fires were then reported nearby, including a truck bed burning in front of Panda Inn at 3488 E. Foothill Blvd., a rubbish can fire inside Panera Bread at 3521 E. Foothill Blvd., and a vehicle fire at the Sierra Madre Villa parking structure.

Emergency personnel canvassed the surrounding area for an extended period after extinguishing the fires, officials said. All incidents remain under investigation.
