The in-person program is designed for fifth-grade parents who want to learn more about the district’s middle school options and hear from parents whose children currently attend them, according to an announcement from the Pasadena Education Network.
Parents attending will have an opportunity to ask questions and get a clearer picture of the district’s middle schools before visiting campuses this fall, the organization said.
In its event listing, the Pasadena Education Network said the program is meant to ease some of the anxiety parents may feel and give them a frame of reference as they tour middle schools.
The organization describes itself as a network of more than 1,300 parents who support and send their children to Pasadena Unified School District schools. It says it promotes family involvement in public education in the district so all children benefit.
The Pasadena Education Network has previously said its programs help parents understand their public school options in Pasadena, Altadena and Sierra Madre.
Norma Coombs Elementary is a Pasadena Unified School District campus serving kindergarten through fifth grade, according to state school data.
Registration is available through the Pasadena Education Network’s event page.
