Pasadena Humane Receives $20,000 Donation From Official Pet Licensing Partner, DocuPet

DocuPet, Pasadena Humane’s official pet licensing partner, has announced a $20,000 donation to support the Pasadena Humane organization. The funds will be used to increase pet identification and reunification services for the entire community.

DocuPet was brought on board by Pasadena Humane in 2021 to provide residents with a quick and simple online experience for licensing pets, resulting in increased pet identification and reunification services for the entire community.

This gift was made possible via DocuPet’s Safe&Happy Fund, which collects automatic donations through designer license tag purchases, and direct donations made by residents through the modernized Pasadena Humane DocuPet online platform.

The $20,000 donation will support sheltering, veterinary care, animal adoption, and owner assistance programs at Pasadena Humane, which helped more than 40,000 animals in 2021. Pasadena Humane offers lifesaving programs and services such as foster care for orphaned young kittens, an ICU for sick and injured animals, and pet owner assistance services such as a pet food bank, free or low-cost spay/neuter and vaccines, veterinary vouchers, and emergency boarding.

“We are incredibly grateful to DocuPet for this generous donation,” said Dia DuVernet, President & CEO of Pasadena Humane. “This gift will ensure that animals in our care receive safe shelter, loving care, nutritious food and a second chance at the life they deserve.”

Donations and volunteers are critical in allowing Pasadena Humane to remain operational, but pet licenses also play an important role in its work to reunite lost pets with their owners. Pets with valid license tags spend little to no time at the shelter, opening up valuable time, space and resources for local animals in need and the dedicated staff that serves them.

“A pet license is more than just a tag; it’s a form of identification in the event your pet gets lost,” added DuVernet. “Plus, licensing your pet helps ensure safe and healthy communities by requiring proof of an up-to-date rabies vaccine and offering discounts for spayed/neutered pets. Best of all, when you license your pet, you are supporting your local shelter. One hundred percent of pet licensing fees in our service area support our lifesaving programs.”

To celebrate this donation,  DocuPet is offering $10 off a regularly priced designer tag for all Pasadena Humane pet owners with promo code PASADENA10 at checkout. During checkout, residents also have the option to contribute to DocuPet’s Safe&Happy fund, which collects optional donations and was a conduit for the recent $20,000 donation.

Licensing your dog is mandatory in the cities that Pasadena Humane serves. Cat licensing is also required in some cities. Pet owners may license their pets online or upgrade their current license tag to a designer tag by visiting pasadenahumane.docupet.com.  Pet owners can license and renew their dog licenses online, by mail or over the phone at 1-877-239-6072. DocuPet is available to residents in Arcadia, Bradbury, Glendale, La Cañada Flintridge, Monrovia, Pasadena, San Marino, Sierra Madre, and South Pasadena.
