A Pasadena-based law firm has launched a charitable nonprofit to support programs throughout the community in the areas of youth development and family well-being.

The nonprofit Lagerlof Cares will be serving the Pasadena community by investing in local programs focused on supporting children and teenagers, including some of the programs that the Boys and Girls Club of Pasadena have either initiated or is currently planning.

Lagerlof, LLP, a team of legal advisers that has been serving Pasadena for over 110 years, started the nonprofit as its charitable extension that will focus on their corporate social responsibility and philanthropic initiatives.

“We chose to partner with the Boys and Girls Club of Pasadena because of their lasting impact on youth within our community and their mission to enable children and youth to reach their full potential as productive, caring, healthy, and responsible citizens,” said Joshua Driskell, Lagerlof, LLP’s managing partner.

“They serve over 2,000 kids annually and we are excited and proud to partner with an organization with such a remarkable impact,” Driskell said.

In a statement, the firm said it believes that, as a prominent leader within the Pasadena community, they have the responsibility to give back to Pasadena residents beyond the boundaries of standard business practices. It added that they are dedicated to serving the local community in an impactful and meaningful way.

“Lagerlof Cares is committed to helping build a stronger, and more connected, community by investing in local nonprofit programs dedicated to serving local youth and families via direct volunteerism, charitable events, and corporate gifts,” said Corey Castillo, Lagerlof, LLP’s chief operating officer.

In one of their fundraising events this year, Lagerlof Cares will be hosting its first golf tournament on Oct. 25 at the La Cañada Country Club. All proceeds from this event will be benefiting Boys and Girls Club of Pasadena.
