A 37-year-old Pasadena man was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly holding a pocket knife to his mother’s throat and threatening his sister on Friday, Oct. 30, Pasadena Police Department Lt. Thomas Blanchard said.
Blanchard identified the suspect as Michael Solis. Neither the 61-year-old mother nor the 36-year-old sister was injured, Blanchard said.
The incident occurred in the 1200 block of North Raymond, where Solis lives with his parents and sister, according to Blanchard. All three people involved are Pasadena residents, he said.
According to Blanchard, Solis was involved in a verbal altercation with his mother when he pulled out a pocket knife and held it to her throat.
Solis’ sister intervened and was also threatened, Blanchard said.
Solis then went to the backyard as his sister called police, Blanchard said. Officers arrived but were initially unable to locate him, according to Blanchard.
Solis later returned to the residence and was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Blanchard said, adding that Solis was in custody as of Oct. 31.
