A Pasadena man was arrested early Monday morning after lunging at his neighbor with a large kitchen knife during a dispute, according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Monica Cuellar.
The Feb. 2 assault with a deadly weapon occurred at about 3:50 a.m. in the 400 block of North Garfield Avenue, Cuellar said. Officers responded after the victim, a man in his 30s, called police to report the attack.
Cuellar said that the victim told officers his neighbor, identified as Amaya Arnold, 41, of Pasadena, attempted to stab him but missed. The investigation revealed that the two men, who live in the same complex, had been drinking together before a verbal altercation escalated. Arnold went to his apartment, retrieved a knife, and returned to confront the victim, Cuellar said.
Arnold was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon Cuellar said. The knife was recovered at the scene. The victim was not injured.
