Pasadena Media’s award-winning local television talk show “Pasadena Monthly with Justin Chapman” will feature Jasiri Jenkins-Glenn, the organization’s director of community engagement, as a guest on its upcoming episode airing Friday at 5 p.m.
The appearance follows another first-place honor for the program, which recently won the top video award in the Talk Show category at the Alliance for Community Media West’s WAVE (Western Access Video Excellence) Awards for its January episode focusing on the Eaton Fire.
Jenkins-Glenn, the first to hold Pasadena Media’s director of community engagement role, is tasked with building partnerships and expanding public programming for the city’s public access television network and studio.
She previously held management and operations positions with organizations including the San Francisco and Palm Springs International Film Festivals, the Golden State Warriors and Facebook, and has served on the Santa Cruz Volunteer Advisory Board.
Pasadena Media, a nonprofit that operates the city’s community media center, produces “Pasadena Monthly” and oversees four PEG cable television channels.
The organization provides video production training, job-skills development and community-produced programming serving a wide range of local interests.
The show airs on the fourth Friday of each month on Pasadena Media’s Arroyo Channel and streams across multiple platforms, including AT&T U-verse, Charter Spectrum, YouTube, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and Roku.
It is written, hosted and produced by Chapman and directed and edited by Jeffrey Stanfill, with Jenkins-Glenn serving as supervising producer.
In addition to its recent WAVE Award, “Pasadena Monthly” has earned multiple first-place honors from the Alliance for Community Media West.
Chapman has also received numerous journalism awards from the Los Angeles Press Club for his work on the program and his companion show, “Well Read with Justin Chapman.”
Guests on the program have included elected officials, civic leaders and public figures from across the region, reflecting the show’s focus on local government, policy and community issues.
The upcoming episode featuring Jenkins-Glenn continues the program’s monthly format spotlighting voices shaping Pasadena’s civic and cultural landscape.
