Pasadena’s Municipal Services Committee will scrutinize progress on Metro’s 18-mile North Hollywood to Pasadena Bus Rapid Transit corridor at City Hall Tuesday, as the long-planned transit project approaches its construction phase.
The 4 p.m. meeting will feature Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority representatives detailing design advancements, construction timelines, and strategies to mitigate community disruption along the route that will connect the North Hollywood B Line/G Line Station to Pasadena’s A Line.
Two years after Metro approved the modified project in April 2022 — incorporating Pasadena’s position that buses operate in mixed-flow lanes within city limits rather than dedicated lanes — officials are preparing to reintroduce the transit corridor to residents and businesses who will be affected by upcoming construction.
The presentation follows a Cooperative Agreement between Metro and Pasadena, which established roles and reimbursement terms for the project’s design and construction phases.
Metro officials will outline their coordination with the City and detail plans for renewed community engagement efforts focused on construction impacts, building upon outreach conducted during the Environmental Impact Report phase. The agency also plans to discuss implementation steps and opportunities for collaboration with Pasadena officials and stakeholders.
The transit corridor will span four cities, passing through Los Angeles, Burbank, and Glendale before reaching Pasadena.
