Pasadena Police Officer Arrested on Vandalism Charges

Another Pasadena police officer has been placed on administrative leave, according to Police Chief Eugene Harris.

Kalvin Blake was arrested last Friday by Upland police on a felony warrant for vandalism.

Because the warrant was a felony, Blake was placed on unpaid administrative leave.

The incident reportedly occurred after a woman, who also works in the department, broke up with Blake and began dating another police officer.

According to the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office, Blake has been charged with felony vandalism of $400 or more and pleaded not guilty. He was released on his own recognizance.

He is due back in court on July 9.

“As Chief, I take a strong stance and hold all personnel accountable for their actions and behavior if unethical, unprofessional or in violation of the law or department policy. The officer in this case has been placed on Administrative Leave, and this criminal case is being handled by the Upland Police Department and the San Bernardino District Attorney’s Office,” said Harris.

In 2023, Blake and several other officers were disciplined after they were recorded drinking alcohol at a party while on duty and in uniform.

Several Pasadena police officers were placed on leave earlier this month in connection with a shooting in the department’s parking structure.

Officer Blake has been recognized multiple times in 2026 for his service, leadership and bravery.

Blake received the Pasadena Police Department’s Gold Line of Duty Medal for bravery during the department’s 2024 annual awards ceremony.

He was also among the officers honored at the department’s 53rd Annual Police & Community Awards Ceremony on May 6, where a large number of employees were recognized for their efforts during and after the Eaton Fire.
